The main objective of the project “BACKSTAGE” is the development of an innovative original digital game that will be addressed in a modern way to students, young people, young women and adults and will be related to the culture and history of the 20th and 21st century in Greece with references to the past and the present, especially the theatres, directors, stage designers, actors, musicians and other artists.
The digital game will be based on the theatres and the artistic work of contemporary artists such as directors, actors, stage designers, musicians, etc.
Artists such as Karolos Koun, Dimitris Katalifos, Alexis Minotis, Ralu Karatza, Xenia Kalogeropoulou, Jenny Karezi, Mikis Theodorakis, Nikos Kipourgis, Loukianos Keilaidonis, Iakovos Kampanelis, Kostas Kazakos, etc. Indicatively some of the theatres we will rely on are Acropol Theatre, Vembo Theatre, Peroket Theatre, Rex Theatre, Athens Theatre, Bretania Theatre, Gloria Theatre, Horn Theatre, Amiral Theatre, Piraeus Municipal Theatre, etc. As well as plays that contributed to the struggle such as “Our Great Circus” and “And you comb your hair”.
Along with the trip to the theatres, the play will also refer to the 50th anniversary of the fall of the junta and the restoration of democracy (2024).
The digital game will be a playful tour of theatrical and musical works and artists of contemporary Greek culture through a story (storytelling) between solving a mystery and a mental tour of the theatres of the 20th and 21st century.
The main target group of the project is children, teenagers and young people who, while using modern technology to a large extent, have little knowledge of the country’s modern culture and history. The game, apart from being accessible online free of charge to all, will also have a pedagogical-educational character and can therefore be used by educational and cultural institutions.
