EUthentic Detectives
Foster the media literacy skills of people facing cognitive challenges, their caregivers and young people-volunteers in Europe and beyond
Key Goal
The key goal of EUthentic Detectives is to foster the media literacy skills of people facing cognitive challenges (e.g. people with intellectual disability, autism spectrum, or people with dementia), their caregivers and young people-volunteers in Europe and beyond.
Key Objectives
- Create a cross-border & cross-sectoral alliance around Europe promoting the inclusion of people facing cognitive challenges, their caregivers and young-volunteers in the new digital media era.
- Exchange ideas and good practices through a community of practice and develop innovative methodology and educational toolkit that will be able to adapt to the changing media environment and respond to the needs of the key target groups.
- Build the capacity of trainers, educators, youth workers, caregivers, or relevant professionals on how to develop the critical thinking and the media literacy skills of people facing cognitive challenges, their caregivers and young volunteers and transform them into ambassadors of EUthentic media.
- Put in the centre of the media production the people facing cognitive challenges, their caregivers and young volunteers and empower their critical thinking, digital and media literacy skills and creativity to foster ownership of their learning and expression as EUthentic Detectives.
- Promote the importance of media literacy and inclusion in the new media landscape through an advocacy campaign and different actions of the project in local, national and EU level.
- Encourage inclusion, equality, diversity and participation, including, where appropriate, specific incentives that encourage the active participation in the cultural and creative sectors of people with disabilities, people belonging to minorities and people belonging to socially marginalised groups.
